Google books is an online database for books. Similarly to the regular Google search browser search, by searching keywords, a person is able to find books that fit their needs. After they find a book, users can either read a preview of the book, or download a pdf of the book, as long as it is in public domain. Additionally, according to the Google Books About page, "If you find a book you like, click on the "Buy this book" and "Borrow this book" links to see where you can buy or borrow the print book". As of now, there is also an option to buy a digital copy of the book through the Google Play Store. Overall, Google Books can be a great way for casual readers to find books they may be interested in without being overwhelmed by searching through a library database. However, just because they find a book they like, doesn't mean a library near them will carry it, so that can be an accessibility issue.
